Social House

A development of a town centre site to provide low cost student and studio flat accommodation. Circulation space is to the perimeter of the building and at each level a part of this circulation is enlarged to provide an area for general and social use. Access to the flats from perimeter circulation is across a porch space for each flat to create a more communal, less atomised environment. The structure is conceived as a stack of modular units beneath a gabled roof, bound together within a trellis which would be planted.
